When my #EDS diagnosis was still new and my gob still freshly smacked, I was routinely blindsided by flare-ups. Often seemingly at random, I would feel the rug being pulled away from underneath me and be completely unprepared in dealing with the pain, the #chronicfatigue, and the darkness (hello, #mentalhealth!). Over time, I observed and took note of the (largely) non-medical ways that worked best for me to ease my #chronicpain, both physical and mental. We've just come from a glorious week in Cornwall, which -- I'm very frustrated to say -- has unfortunately been a disappointing week in food for me. Let's not kid ourselves: fish & chips, Cornish pasties, scones... You name it and eyes glaze over as everyone around you starts drooling. You can eat terribly well in Cornwall. Just, so I found, not when you follow a restricted diet. Although we found #glutenfree fish & chips, they were bland and lacking. A pasty shop who made special pasties to order told me yes, they do gluten free and yes, they can make pasties #onionfree but when it came to it, it turned out those two things couldn't be incorporated into one and I was left wanting and really hungry.
So, here it is: in the month of November, I'm taking on Cornish delicacies and transform them into #lowfodmap delights.
